**Logo property of Steve Hardy's Original Beach Party** During the Sunday, October 13, 2019 show, Steve, his son Britt and wife Hope announced Steve's retirement and released information on an upcoming CD, "Party For a Lifetime" that will feature a host of artists and bands performing some of Steve's favorite songs throughout the years. Britt credited Craig Woolard from the Embers in orchestrating the lineup. Craig also called in to talk about the project and once released, all proceeds from the sale of the CD's will go to Steve and the family. He mentioned how so many people were willing to donate their time as well as services to complete the album. One of the artists that will be included is Mark Black from the East Coast Party Band. His contribution is on the Jackie Wilson classic, "Whispers" (Gettin' Louder), which was also recorded and released by the Isley Brothers. Mark's version is sure to get chart action as he did a great job as always. The song is currently available for purchase on iTunes and all proceeds will also go to Steve and the Family. You can view the promo below! Every year people look forward to Steve's annual Christmas event called the "Thanks for Listening Christmas Party" which hosts several bands, free food and a Christmas toy drive for the Toys for Tots organization. His wife Hope mentioned during the show on Sunday that the 2019 Christmas party would probably be Steve's last appearance at the event. Everyone is invited but you must have a ticket to attend. In lieu of the toy drive, they're accepting donations this year to help with medical expenses and Steve's retirement. Tickets will be distrubuted to the local sponsors around the first of November. The current lineup for the party includes: The Mighty Saints of Soul, Band of Oz, Steve Owens and Summertime, Main Event Band and other special guests. Tickets and sponsor information will be announced soon! Keep the family in your prayers! We're more than happy to offer our services in helping anyway possible here at Flip Flop Live. On Tuesday, September 24, 2019 the Envision Band members were travelling when another car rear-ended one of the band vehicles causing it turn spin and flip multiple times before coming to rest on the opposite side of Interstate 40. You will find the entire story below from WXII NBC Channel 12. The accident could've easily ended differently and we're certainly happy to hear that all members are okay with the exception of of a few who suffered some injuries. Our prayers go out to each of you for complete healing and we know this was a scary night for all involved. Envision will perform on Friday, November 8, 2019 during the CBMA weekend so make plans to see them.
Over the weekend, Envision was on the way back from a gig close to Raleigh when they were blindsided by another car. "Someone out of nowhere at what seemed to be 100 miles per hour just came and rear-ended us. We spun and we flipped multiple times," Envision front man, Michael Thomas said. As if that wasn't bad enough, they landed on the opposite side of interstate 40. "Once we settled from flipping, boom, another car hit us. It was a second impact," Thomas said. Amazingly, Thomas only had minor cuts and bruises, the guitarist had a bruised elbow and the most serious damage was to their saxophone player, with a broken ankle. "We're just blessed. We are 150 percent blessed," he said. Not only did the band members somehow survive this crash, they were back to doing what they love just three days later and didn't skip a beat. Thomas knows how lucky his band is and says has a different outlook on life now. "I have stitches, scratches and a bruised knee. I'll take it compared to what the other outcome should've been," he said. The one thing he wants to make sure is heard is that he thinks there was a higher power watching over his band that night. "I'm going to tell as many people as I can what God did for us that night," he said. Michael Thomas is an employee with WXII.
