The event this year will run from April 25th through May 4th 2019.

About SOS
Thousands of shaggers will from up and down the East Coast will arrive ready for ten days of their favorite Beach Music DJ's, bands, shaggers, venues and friends all centrally located in NMB. You will find shag instructors offering classes throughout the entire event and you don't want to miss the night life. Venture out from club to club while hearing the best in live entertainment from some of your favorite artists and bands.

In just over a month after announcing ticket sales, the annual Abingdon Virginia Ruritan Club seafood festival sells out once again. The Ruritan club holds two festivals per year and if you were planning on attending the May event, you're out of luck.

The Spring 2019 entertainment will feature Virginia's own "The Janitors" from Virginia Beach. Danny Morgan and the guys always put on a great show performing a tight blend of R&B, 60's Soul, 70's Funk, Country, Classic Rock and Top 40 Dance.

One of Virginia's most popular events and always a sell out crowd simply because they offer some of the best food and wide selection along with top entertainment each year ranging from Beach, Soul, Blues and more. You can check our calendar for similar upcoming events and be sure to watch for the Ruritan club's Fall festival that's held on the third Wednesday of October.

We're excited to hear that Blackwater Rhythm & Blues will be releasing a new song titled:

hear the new song and others included on the new release. Once we've received word on

On a sidenote, we happened to notice today is Doug Winstead's birthday from BR&B. Happy
Birthday Doug!

The 2019 Virginia Shaggers Hall of Fame inductee ceremony was held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at the Crown Plaza Hampton Marina in Hampton, Virginia. The 2019 Sunset Sounds concert series calendar is set and what a great lineup. Located in beautiful downtown South Hill, Virginia this event is brought to you by the South Hill Chamber of Commerce and the South Hill Market Square Committee. South Hill is located near two great lakes, Gaston and Buggs Island. Plenty of shops including chains and a plethora of family owned businesses. Sand City Productions announced this morning the release of their first compilation titled "Let Loose". The album will be pushed to your favorite DJ's and stations Friday, March 15, 2019 so be sure to call in your requests for the new CD. From their news release they said "Artist appearing on the CD will include some of the industries best talent including, Gary Lowder, Steve Edmonds, Michael Maffeo, Dustin York, Kendrix Singletary, Marsha Morgan, Tim Sidden as well as two NEW artist to the Music Industry, The Carolina Beach Boys and Tom Britt."

The 2019 Lake Life Live Summer concert series calendar is set and what a great lineup. Located on beautiful Buggs Island Lake in Clarksville, Virginia (Virginia's ONLY lakeside town). As you cross the bridge into downtown Clarksville you're greeted with quaint shops, restaurants and  businesses. Venture a little farther into town and you will reach the new stage that was constructed for the 2018 concert series which now includes the addition of an outdoor dance floor in front of the large covered stage.

Each year the event grows and visitors are greeted with the friendliness of small town America. The residents and businesses are welcoming of all guests while happily sharing in the town's festivities and traditions. You can even book a room overlooking the beautiful lake and stay the weekend.

Through the hardwork and dedication of so many people, organizations, artists and bands,
we can certainly say that the 2019 Cabin Fever Throwdown fundraiser was a success and
we're so happy that we were able to be there for the event and we're already looking forward
to 2020.
