Hip Pocket announced on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 that Jaron "J Breez" Bradley is now a member of the band. On their release they stated "A resident of Wilmington, NC, born into a family of musicians and performing since age 7, J Breez has played with such familiar groups as Midnight Allie, The Craig Woolard Band, The Kid Drew Band & most recently with Leroy Harper's All Stars. And The Band Played On".

The 2nd annual Hardwood Shagger Competition is coming on July 4th - 6th 2019 at the Spanish Galleon in N. Myrtle Beach, SC. The following details were found on their website and be sure to verify this information either by visiting their website or by calling/emailing the individuals listed below.

On Saturday, June 1, 2019, the Charlotte Area Shaggers announced their hall of fame inductees for 2019. According to a Facebook post by member, Carol Hill Church the official induction ceremony will take place on November 23, 2019 at Lynn's Dance Club, 4819 S Tryon St, Charlotte, NC 28217.
On Friday, May 31, 2019, Beach, Shag Rhythm & Blues Radio announced on their Facebook page the addition of DJ Ray Melton's show "On the Beach with DJ Ray Ray" that will air every Friday at 8:00PM. Since 2008, Ray has hosted his beach show in which according to his website has gained listeners in 38 states and 18 countries.
Ray was awarded the CBMA Industry Appreciation award and was nominated for internet radio show of the year in; 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2018. He was also nominated for Internet DJ in 2015 and 2016.
Be sure to tune in every Friday at 8PM. The show can be streamed directly from their website and also on the Tune-In radio app. We'd like to say congratulations to Ray on his new timeslot and we'll be sure to tune in.

There was talk circulating throughout various social media channels over the weekend that the Catalinas welcomed a new member. After confirming this information with the band we’d like to help welcome Angela Resignalo to the band.
The Catalinas welcome our newest member, Angela Resignalo as a lead vocalist in our band!!! Angela is from Mt Airy, NC and was recently a star performer at the Rudy Theater in Selma, NC since 2006. Angela bring youth and energy to our stage and we are very excited about what the future has in store for us with Angela. Be listening and watching out for new recordings featuring her very soon!
The Catalinas began in 1957 and celebrates their 62 Anniversary in 2019! The bands popularity is based primarily in southeastern US, however, The Catalinas music is played on radio stations in the UK, Greece and Australia to name a few. Known for their quality, tight sound and energy onstage, they are one of the "in demand" groups for city festivals, weddings and private parties, always playing a variety of music that suits all ages. Though known for Beach Music, regionally and nationally for the mega hit "Summertime's Callin' Me", they play all styles to a high standard of excellence. "Summertime's Callin' Me" has become the anthem of North and South Carolina beach goers as they struggle through the winter waiting on summer to arrive.
Their latest CD, Dancin' Romancin', was nominated for "Album of the Year" at this year's Carolina Beach Music Awards. The CD was officially released August 18, 2015. It is available on CD Baby, Amazon and iTunes, and of course for sale at personal appearances. Recent release of The Best Thing sing by Gary Barker is in regular rotation on several radio stations and doing well on the beach music charts. Our latest release, "Beyond the Sea" is near the top 10 on Fess Hooks chart on JukinOldies.com Call your favorite on-air DJ and request new music by The Catalinas. New releases are periodically scheduled for 2019.
