Sylvia Johns Ritchie released a new single and video for "Burnin' It Up for Your Love" and we've included it for you below. Producer J.K. Loftin of Cape Fear Studios says: "Just released today and so glad to see so many people enjoying this! The video by Tony Murnahan with Stwrongtone Media finally dropped, along with the single, just after Sylvia was nominated for her talents as Female Vocalist and Rising Star for this year by the Carolina Beach Music Association. And, those are not song specific awards, just acknowledgements of her talent and it's impact. If you are preparing to vote for keep all that in mind, especially as you watch this killer video. She is truly deserving! Features R Mark Black on sax, Frank Mills on bass, Rick Murray on drums and yours truly on guitar, and as producer and engineer. Everyone involved poured it on thick, hot and heavy! You're gonna love it! You can shag or line dance to it and we hope you do!" Great job Sylvia, we love the song and video and we'd like to also congratulate on your nominations for the 2021 Carolina Beach Music Awards. We look forward to seeing you in November and good luck on all of your categories.

On August 27, 2021, JD Cash shared information on his Facebook page about a procedure that he recently had and also shared a GoFundMe campaign setup to help with the medical expenses. Please read his story below and if you're able to give, you will find the link to the fundraiser page. Original post: I also had to have a Defibrillator attached to my heart to maintain a heartbeat. The Defibrillator is set on 80 Beats Per Minute. This Device is designed to shock you back into rhythm and revive the heart if it stops. There is a constant monitor in my house that my cardiologists use to monitor my heart rhythms. The surgery changed my life for good as far as not walking and breathing as well as I would like to and not being able to work very much limiting what I am physically able to do. I now suffer from Severe Heart Failure.
About 3 months ago , I started receiving phone calls and messages from my Doctors telling me my heart was constantly racing up down which is very dangerous and can cause a stroke or cardiac arrest leading to death. I was referred to a great surgeon, Dr. Winterfield at MUSC Hospital in Charleston. He specializes in performing High-Tech procedures inside the heart called a Ventricular Tachycardia Ablation which if successful will stop the heart from racing up and down. My heart was racing from 80 up into the 200 range and above. This surgery sometimes works but in some cases , it has to be repeated. Dr. Winterfield said he was pretty certain he solved the problem.
In Charleston, I had to have two surgeries. First they performed a left/right heart cath to check the inside of the heart for blockages, fluid & pressure to make sure it was safe to proceed. I had to wait a couple of days for the 2nd surgery due to fluid on the heart. On Aug. 19 last week I was operated on for the main procedure, a Ventricular Tachycardia Ablation. It was a very long procedure but hopefully successful.
When I got home, I discovered I Have Massive Blood Bruises Across Both Groans Where The Four Catheters Went In To Insert Cameras and to work inside my heart performing the Ablation. I will be moving slow for a quite a while and could some assistance while getting back
on my feet. All donations would be appreciated.

If you've noticed on various photos that were recently shared of the Embers featuring Craig Woolard, you may have noticed a difference face sitting behind the drums. On August 30, 2021, Rita Free made a post on Facebook regarding Wayne Free and his recent procedure. Wayne told us earlier today "I’m recovering great, driving Ree up the wall" and went on to talk about how supportive and understanding the band has been. He appreciates all of the messages they've received! We know he's ready to get back on the road doing what he loves and we'll continue our prayers for Wayne.

On August 24, 2021 Tim Morris posted an update on his Facebook page. This is great news and we can't wait to see Tim back on the road full time. We will continue to keep him in our prayers. "Thank you everyone for your prayers, calls, messages and donations. You have made this terrible health setback much easier to go through. I am still recovering and have 2 more procedures that will take place in the coming weeks to months, but I am feeling so much better! I am feeling well enough to hit the stage again with BOZ this week. I will be taking it slow and it will take some time to rebuild my chops, but I am excited to do what I love once again and to see you all!! Thanks to everyone!!!♥️♥️♥️" |
