The 28th annual Eno Beach Shag Club Dance Contest was hosted at Umstead Pines Country Club August 12th and 13th 2022. On Friday night they had the Newcomers Division and the CSA Amateurs and on Saturday the CSA Novice Division, CSA Senior Pros and the CSA Professionals. Townsend Link from the Pink Slips Band shared a video via social media on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 (watch the video below). The Pink Slips Band put together a raffle for a signed guitar by all of the band members. The little girl (Emma) that can be seen in the video recently underwent a bone marrow transplant and of course the family has mounting medical bills, lodging and other expenses. For all donations received, 100% of the proceeds will go to Emma's family!

The highest bidder will receive the signed Fender Stratocaster guitar from the Pink Slips Band that will be hand delivered by Townsend to your door. Upon delivery the lucky winner will also enjoy a private acoustic show from Townsend in your living room, office or anywhere you choose. Hand delivery and the performance is only available in East Tennessee, Virginia, North and South Carolina. If you live outside of the above mentioned areas, the guitar will be shipped to you. Bidding is open until Tuesday, August 23, 2022.

On Saturday, July 30, 2022, the Carolina Beach Music Academy announced the 2022 CBMA Nominees live on 94.9FM The Surf. Voting ballots will be going out shortly to the eligible academy members and they will be able to cast their votes for their favorites in each category. The results will be announced in November 2022 during the annual Cammy Weekend in N. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The Carolina Beach Music Academy 2022 Nominee Announcement Show will happen on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 12:00PM on 94.9FM The Surf. Good luck to all of the industry members who work so hard to keep our industry and the music alive. We'll have a streaming link here on Flip Flop Live for  you as well for the Surf.

Still not a CBMA member but you'd like to vote? You have until July 29, 2022 to register. You will not be able to join after the announcements have been made so if you'd like to support and cast your vote for your favorites in each category, you should head over to the CBMA website and sign up today so it doesn't slip by you.

On Monday, June 20, 2022 the Carolina Beach Music Academy sent out emails notifying the extended deadline for the nomination ballots for the 2022 Carolina Beach Music Awards due to the Juneteenth holiday. The deadline is now set for Wednesday, June 22, 2022! If you're a member and you're eligible to nominate, check your email inbox because all ballots were sent via email/mail.
